Greater interactivity, peer-to-peer collaboration, and tools that turn content into a conversation. We've got plenty of updates to share, including how our new AI-powered features are making it easier to engage students and make learning active, in and out of the classroom.
What happens on the first day of class may be even more important than what you do in the weeks that follow. In this presentation, Dr. James Lang shares strategies for piquing curiosity, building community, and setting the right expectations. You’ll also learn why immersing students in learning on day one is a great way to prime them for what’s to come.
They make it look easy, but as our faculty presenters will share, delivering a great course involves plenty of trial and error. In this session, we’ll explore their lessons learned and go-to practices for launching a high-impact course in Top Hat. Then, shift gears as we guide you through using Top Hat to welcome students, create connections, and drive engagement from day one!
Getting students to show up and engage may be easier than you think. In this session, our faculty guests will discuss their formula for creating dynamic in-class experiences their students don’t want to miss. You’ll also learn how to use Top Hat to create interactive lectures that deepen learning and make class time more engaging.
Customizing course content solves a number of challenges—from keeping material current, to engaging students, and ensuring alignment with how you like to teach your course. In this session, you'll explore Top Hat’s authoring toolkit and craft dynamic content that serves your unique teaching vision.
Most students are unaware of how learning actually works. They’re even less informed when it comes to developing the self-regulation needed to thrive in the classroom, let alone in the age of AI. In this special presentation, Dr. Linda Nilson shares an array of proven strategies you can use to get students to reflect on, monitor, and improve their learning skills. These low-lift techniques are exactly what’s needed to help students realize their potential, in the classroom and in life.
As technology transforms how we work and live, emphasizing the process and experience of learning is more important than ever. In our final Summer Camp presentation, you’ll learn how forward-looking educators are transforming assignments to motivate and engage—and create more opportunities to provide the feedback students crave. Then, see how to put these practices into action by using Top Hat to reimagine assessments and assignments in your course.
