Turn and Talk
Turn and talk is an active learning exercise where an instructor poses a question to class and students turn to the person next to them to talk. In online classes, this is done with the aid of technology such as video conferencing software. Students share their input with a partner and then share their findings with the larger group.
Turn and talk refers to a collaborative learning activity where students discuss their responses to an assigned question with a partner. After discussing their responses with the class, other students can add to the conversation to encourage critical thinking.
