What is
Learning Experience
Learning experience is the spectrum of activities, interactions and environments through which students acquire knowledge, skills and attitudes. Learning experiences integrate both traditional educational components such as lectures with contemporary interactions including games and using AI in education. Learning experiences in the twenty-first century are dynamic and personalized, influenced by content, pedagogy, and technology. Effective learning experiences today don’t only support subject mastery. Well-designed learning experiences prepare students for the workplace by honing soft skills such as critical thinking, problem solving and creative application.
Learning experience refers to the pedagogical practices that instructors use to impart educational content. It involves using teaching methods to engage students and deliver the curriculum in a meaningful and holistic way. From a psychological perspective, learning experience refers to a student’s emotions, perceptions and cognitive processes while absorbing information. Student-centered experiences incorporate project-based learning, experiential learning and gamified learning to help cement concepts internally. Effective learning experiences involve: a) understanding the unique needs of learners and tailoring activities to meet their needs, b) experiential learning and facilitating immersive, hands-on activities, c) intrinsic and extrinsic motivation through real-world relevance and d) sensory-rich experiences where lessons incorporate sounds, sights and physical sensations.
