What is

SoTL

SoTL, which stands for the scholarship of teaching and learning, is an advanced movement that hones in on academic practices and how they relate to student learning. To help enhance educational quality, the scholarship of teaching and learning makes inquiries into how and why students learn. The results are then shared and reviewed so that practitioners can determine how to improve the student learning experience. In essence, necessity drives exploration, which provides insight to educators.

SoTL involves classroom evaluations, content analysis, peer experiments, and reflection, among other practical applications. Using the findings from these practices, changes are implemented to promote a more effective student learning process. In other words, developments are made so that pupils can both quench and maintain their thirst for knowledge. The most critical aspect of SoTL is public sharing. As more scholars gain access to the discoveries of this research, it bodes well for increased learning.
