Lecturer

Lecturer refers to faculty members in either college or university. Lecturers typically hold a Master’s or PhD and they may teach, conduct research, publish scholarly journals and sit on various academic committees. Lecturers teach a specific subject based on their own academic background.

A lecturer teaches part-time or full-time at post-secondary institutions. They are not tenured and are one academic rank below professors. Lecturers may be responsible for planning and conducting lectures and seminars, advising students in a professional manner and contributing to their department’s development.
