Associate dean is the title given to those who report to and are responsible to the dean for specific administrative functions. An associate dean oversees a particular area including undergraduate or graduate education, research, administration and finance or faculty affairs. They are below the dean, but higher in rank than academic departments.
Associate dean is a title for those who hold an administrative role at a university and overlook academic programs and activities. The associate deans often work in tandem with one another to ensure that support and academic services meet the needs of the faculty and student body.
