What is an

Administrative Hold

An administrative hold is a type of restriction imposed on students by their institution for a variety of infractions. These may include neglecting to check in online in the case of international students, failing to pick up important documentation and for missing or providing invalid contact information. This hold is designed to ensure students comply with administrative-related matters.

An administrative hold is placed on the accounts of students who fail to comply with some obligation within a set period of time or if there are overdue debts or fines. This hold prevents students from accessing services, including obtaining grades, registering or enrolling in classes, and borrowing books.
