What is an
Inclusive Classroom
An inclusive classroom is an approach used within Western pedagogy to describe a learning environment where all students are welcomed holistically, regardless of their abilities or skills. It is built on the idea that being in a classroom with students of differing abilities and skills will better prepare students with special needs for their future.
Inclusive classroom refers to the belief that all students, regardless of labels, should be members of the same classroom. The philosophy of inclusion advocates for the elimination of the dual general and special systems, and instead supports the creation of a merged system that is responsive to all learners’ needs.
