Achievement Gap

Achievement gap describes a significant difference in academic outcomes or educational attainment between diverse groups of students. Achievement gap is the unequal output of educational results between two groups of students, such as high-income and low-income students.

Achievement gap refers to the gap in academic performance between groups of students. Students’ grades, standardized test scores, course selection and dropout rates are some of the factors that the achievement gaps account for. Intrinsic factors such as race, income and gender can impact student achievement, thus widening or narrowing the gap.
