What is
Gamification
Gamification is the process of integrating games into pre-existing activities or processes in order to increase participation and engagement. With gamification, game elements are integrated into non-game applications to make activities such as day-to-day operations, college or university classes and one’s social media presence more enjoyable. Competition, points, achievement, rules of play, status and self-expression are used to encourage user engagement.
Gamification refers to a reward system that, in a learning environment, encourages students to engage more with the content taught in class. Gamification motivates and reinforces student learning with continuous feedback, rewards and the opportunity to practice a subject until students master it. Examples in education include receiving badges for achieving a certain grade or using a leaderboard to track the top students after administering quizzes.
