About the Speaker

Dr. Derek Bruff is an educator, higher ed consultant, and former Director at the Center for Teaching at Vanderbilt University. The author of two acclaimed books, Intentional Tech: Principles to Guide the Use of Educational Technology in College Teaching and Teaching with Classroom Response Systems: Creating Active Learning Environments, he also hosts the podcast Intentional Teaching. An early pioneer in promoting active learning, Dr. Bruff consults regularly with faculty and administrators across higher education on course design and improving student success.
