Using this Material
The content below includes pages and, for some topics, folders. Folders for some topics will include at least one lesson page and a sub-folder with "activities". These activities are optional - you may choose use/to do them or not. Your professor may give you extra credit for doing these activities. (to receive this extra credit, you will have to share your final products with your professor directly. You will not be able to submit those to the Top Hat content.)
The text based lessons pages contain embedded videos and questions. The questions are graded (sometimes simply for doing them [participation], other times for both participation and correctness). Answering the questions will automatically populate your Top Hat "grades" page with points. Your professor can then review your grades page periodically to track your progress and at the end of the semester to determine your grade for working through this Top Hat material. That grade will be considered along with grades for any other work you do for the class beyond this Top Hat material.
Professors: You may add, delete or edit questions as you desire. You may also choose to create a new folder(s) and copy selected questions into those folders to create a more formal exam. You may choose to grade questions as you desire: participation only or participation and correctness. You may do this for individual questions or for all questions on a lesson "page" by assigning it as "homework" or just as "review". You may also choose to "assign" all pages and activities or select only those you wish to use with your students. You may also add your own content: new pages, your own slides, etc. as Top Hat allows.
